Chetan Bhagat is a renowned Indian author, novelist, columnist, public speaker and a screenplay writer, was born on 22th april, 1974 in New Delhi. His family and friends use to call him Chintu.

He belongs to a middle-class Punjabi Hindu family. His father Lt.Col GP Bhagat has served as lieutenant colonel in the Indian Army. His mother Mrs. Nirmala Bhagat, worked as a scientist in the Indian Agricultural Research Institute(IARI). Chetan has one sibling Ketan Bhagat who is a famous novelist and anchor. Chetan has written bestsellers 11 novels. He is well-famous his novels which are written in English-language. His novels take a look at the lives, struggle and aspirations of young Indians

Early Life of Chetan Bhagat

Chetan Bhagat has completed his schooling from the Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, in New Delhi. During school years, Although he was an average student, he started writing articles and very first time he wrote article for his school’s literary magazine. School management got impressed with his writing and to encourage him, school management took an initiative and wrote his name on magazine. His name written on magazine as a writer made him encouraged and he continued writing.

After completing high school, Chetan Bhagat joined Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Delhi to study Mechanical Engineering. After completing graduation from IIT in 1995,he went to the United States(USA) to attend the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad(IIM-A). In 1997, he completed his graduation in business management from IIM-A.

Chetan Bhagat Married Life

During his college days at IIM-A, Chetan Bhagat met Anusha in 1995. They became good friends, fell in love with each other. Enjoyed their college life at the fullest. They planned to get married but parents of Anusha was not agree. But in 1998, they both got married against the wish of the parents of Anusha. In 2005, they were blessed with twins sons “Shyam and Ishan”

Career Life of Chetan Bhagat

After completing graduating from IIM-A, Chetan Bhagat went to Hong Kong and there he worked for Goldman Sachs as an investment banker for 11 years.
To fulfill his writing passion he resigned from his job In 2004 and published his first debut novel, “Five Point Someone”.

Chetan Bhagat’s first novel “Five Point Someone” was applauded by people worldwide and achieved great success. His first fiction novel made him world famous and gave a start to his career as a novelist. After that he kept publishing novels and he has written total 12 books including 9 fiction novels and 3 non fiction books.
